PENDULUM HEARTS
If you are out among the neon signs of Austin's vibrant nightlife and you happen to see the name "Pendulum Hearts" glowing on the marquee, forget whatever else you may have planned for that night and scoot your honky-tonkin' butt into that venue. Night after night, the group tears through a hip-shaking, two-stepping triple-shot of Western Swing, Jazz Manouche and Rockabilly. The hard-hitting band consists of Chase Risinger (guitar & vocals) Tony Perez (fiddle) and a rotating cast of rhythm section players and soloists including notable names such as Josh Hoag (Asleep at the Wheel, Brennan Leigh) and Zack Sapunor (Dale Watson, Hot Club of Cowtown).
"Every so often you hear a song for the first time and you just connect with it instantly, that's what happened to me the first time I heard "A Man with a Plan", it's like the band reached into my soul and put it to music. I connected so instantly I may just consider this my theme song, if nothing else I'll never be able to walk into a convenient store, gas station or liquor store to buy beer without singing this song in my head, maybe even out loud and I am good with that!"
Gabe Reynolds, Sun Radio 100.1 Since the tender age of 13, Chase Risinger has been charming audiences with his eccentric song-writing and guitar-playing. Navigating a diverse terrain of genres, he writes about everything from extraterrestrial love to cheap beer and Buddhism. With his contagious rhythms and imaginative melodies, he has carved out a unique sound to go along with his quirky crooning.
"I really enjoyed the fun writing and excellent musicianship on 'A Man with a Plan'. The production was well done and the delivery reminded me of Charlie Daniels with a swing style of Asleep At The Wheel…so it's in really good company."

"When it comes to keeping Austin weird, the Pendulum Hearts take the crown. With a unique blend of Gypsy Jazz and Texas Swing they’re keeping the artistic spirit of Austin alive and well."
Texas Chill Country "The Pendulum Hearts have always benefitted from a self-deprecating sense of lyrical humor that allows them to not take themselves too seriously. Which perfectly complements the Austin duo’s double shot cocktail of Western Swing and Honky Tonk, because come on…the music makes you want to two-step, not be bummed out by poignant confessions."
Jack Anderson, KUTX 98.9 Tony Perez graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in musical performance and then proceeded to blaze his way into the Austin music scene. He is a furiously talented violinist who consistently works the crowd up into a frenzy with his lively and exhilarating solos. His expert playing seamlessly weaves from western swing to classical motifs, from red hot jazz to country fiddling.
Ludwig Van Beethoven once said "To play a wrong note is insignificant, to play without passion is inexcusable." This is the essence of rule number one to be in this hard-working band; never phone it in, leave it all on the stage and everyone walks away a sweaty mess. Rule number two? Never turn down a free meal. Whether you catch these hungry cats at a swanky night club, a sweaty honky-tonk or a backyard BBQ, you're in for an energetic evening of whimsical song-writing, spirited solos, slap happy upright bass, and the undeniable urge to grab a partner and boogie.
